Hmong Boy Hat

For size 0 - 3 months use a 5mm crochet hook

(6" x 13") For size 3 - 6 months use a 5.5mm crochet hook

(6" x 15") For size 6 - 12 years use a 6mm crochet hook

(6" x 16") *For size 12 - 3 years use a 6 mm crochet hook

(add another increases round with pattern of dc 14, 2 dc in next one)

(7" x 18")

MATERIALS – Crochet hook size H (5.0 mm) – Worsted weight yarn: size: 4 medium Black, Blue, Red (I used Red Hart Super Saver) – Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends – Tape Measure for checking size – Scissors

NOTES Rnd = round ch = Chain sc = Single crochet hdc = Half double crochet dc = Double crochet

st= Stitch st = Slip stitch Join = slip stitch F/O = fasten off

BEANIE PATTERN (Use 5.0 mm H Hook) **Black, Blue**

1. months 0 - 3

Slip knot, ch 4, sl st back to first st to make a ring. Rnd 1: 12 dc into the center of ring. Rnd 2: 2 dc into every st. Rnd 3: 1 dc, 2 dc with every st all around. Rnd 4: dc , dc, 2 dc with every st all around Rnd 5: dc in every st all around Rnd 6-11: repeat Rnd 5 Rnd 12: change color to blue, dc in every st all around F/O, weave in ends.

*(12 month – 3 year)

Rnd 5: 15 dc in every st, 2 dc in one st, repeat pattern all around

Rnd 6: dc in every st all around

Rnd 6-12: repeat Rnd 6

Rnd 13: change color to blue, dc in every st all around

F/O, weave in ends.

Pom pom **red** wrap yarn around four finger 50x

Wrap the center of yarn tightly F/O (leave long string to tie onto hat)

Cut both end open.

Fluff up Pom pom

Attach pom pom to hat

F/O weave in end.
